Let's Play: Directive Play Therapy Approaches - Sioux Falls

Directive Play Therapy is a structured approach that allows therapists to guide children through specific activities to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. Gain an understanding of the nature, purpose, theoretical foundations, and interventions of directive play therapy.  This workshop is intended to provide participants with knowledge, skills, techniques to faciltate directive play therapy techniques.

Participants will:

1. Describe the purpose of utilizing directive play therapy
2. Identify and describe Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy (CBPT) treatment approach
3. Practice 3 CBPT techniques 
4. Identify and describe Adlerian Play Therapy (AdPT) treatment approach
5. Practice 3 AdPT techniques
6. Identify and describe Gestalt Play Therapy treatment approach
7. Practice 3 Gestalt Play Therapy techniques
8. Practice and demonstrate the 5 directive play therapy techniques
