This educational event offers an in-depth exploration of sandtray therapy as a dynamic and powerful tool within play therapy. Participants will learn how to incorporate sandtray techniques to help children and adolescents express complex emotions, resolve internal conflicts, and enhance their therapeutic process. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, attendees will gain practical skills and insights to effectively integrate sandtray therapy into their practice, fostering a deeper connection with clients and promoting healing in a safe, nonverbal, and creative environment. This foundational course introduces participants to the principles of play therapy and sandtray therapy through use of images in the sand including theory, practice, ethics, and self-exploration.
This workshop is designed for mental health professionals, counselors, and therapists seeking to enhance their skills in understanding and utilizing play as a therapeutic tool. Education hours are available for those who are working towards their Registered Play Therapist credential.

Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Understand the fundamentals of sandtray therapy including the theoretical foundations and principles of sandtray therapy within the context of play therapy
- Explore the therapeutic benefits of incorporating sandtray in play therapy, specifically addressing the therapeutic powers of play.
- Develop and practice skills in sandtray techniques including setting up and facilitating a sandtray session.
- Identify strategies for incorpating sandtray therapy into play therapy practice, including recognizing needs of diverse clients.
- Enhance their own reflective practice through guidance on utilizing sandtray in self-reflection and supervision.
